A federal court sentenced Danny Ray Boree to more than a decade behind bars for drug and gun crimes. At his arrest, Boree was a member of Unforgiven, an ironically named white supremacist gang. Photo provided by U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida.
Police arrested Boree in September 2023, and he pleaded guilty in July 2024.
Boree is a member of Unforgiven, one of the largest white supremacist gangs in Florida, according to an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) report.
On June 8, 2023, a deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a jeep for a stop sign violation in Keystone Heights. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy observed Boree in the passenger seat with a meat cleaver/hatchet directly in front of him and a sheathed knife at his feet. For his safety, the deputy instructed Boree to exit the vehicle, and upon exiting the vehicle, the officer observed a clear plastic bag in Boree’s shorts’ waistband.
While patting Boree down, the deputy determined the baggies contained a large quantity of methamphetamines. During a subsequent vehicle search, the deputy also found the Raven Arms pistol and more methamphetamine.
Boree was traveling with Angela Denee Lynch, also named in the indictment. Both Boree and Lynch were charged with “possession with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of pure/actual methamphetamine,” according to the indictment. Both pleaded guilty to these charges. Boree also pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm, which is illegal for convicted felons in Florida.
This was not Boree’s first run-in with the law, and his indictment laid out a long history of violence. At the time of the arrest, Boree had already been convicted of at least eight felonies in Florida state courts, including battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, a previous possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and multiple convictions of grand theft auto, among other felonies.
As part of the guilty plea, Boree forfeited a Raven Arms pistol traced to the offense.
The case was investigated by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program to reduce violent crime, gun violence and make neighborhoods safer for everyone.
“Residents of Northeast Florida are much safer with this violent criminal in federal prison,” said ATF Tampa Field Division Special Agent in Charge Kirk Howard.
The Unforgiven gang was started in 1986 in the Florida prison system. Over the years, it has grown to include members outside of prison. Many of its members have been convicted of offenses ranging from racketeering, assault, kidnapping, drug trafficking and other acts of violence, according to a press release by the ATF.
Wade Wilson, the infamous “Deadpool Killer,”– so named because he shares the same first and last name of the Marvel character– who was convicted of killing two women in Florida, had ties to Unforgiven, according to a press release by the Florida State Attorney’s Office. A Florida court sentenced Wilson to death on Aug. 28, 2024.
Between 2022 and 2023, white nationalist movements grew over 50 percent “from 109 to a historic high of 165,” according an article by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Furthermore, the last four election cycles have seen a rise in open demonstrations and violence from white power groups.
